I can't find Netflix on my ATV495MAX?

 

 

 

 

Netflix approval for is pending on the ATV495MAX. An unofficial firmware update is available which installs a working version of the application. Download it here ATV495MAX_Beta.zip

Please Note – this work around will load a new firmware image that includes a working version of Netflix on your ATV495MAX. If you experience any problems and would like to roll back to the last official MyGica firmware, please download it here: update_MyGica_ATV495Max_enjoytv_7.1_20180322.zip

How to update your Device:

  1. Download the ATV495MAX_Beta.zip file and unzip it into the root folder on a USB Flash Drive, insert into the MyGica ATV495Max. (if you are prompted with a USB Drive Connected message, click the back button to exit the prompt)
  2. On your home screen, Navigate to the ‘UPGRADE & BACKUP’ application
  3. Click the “select” button under the UpdateLocale” section.
  4. Highlight the “ATV495MAX_Beta.img” file and click OK
  5. Click the “Update” button
  6. If a you are prompted with a warning message click “Update” and do not unplug or interrupt the process until the device reboots into the home screen.
  7. Netflix will appear in your home screen.

MyGica Remote Troubleshoot

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Please check the following before you return your unit to Syntech:

1. Check that the batteries are fully charged,working and inserted correctly.

2. Sync the remote with the device (models 329X/495Pro/1900/1960):

  • Remove the USB receiver from the MyGica.
  • Press the volume UP and page UP buttons simultaneously for 3-5 seconds.
  • You will see either a red or blue light flashing on the remote. This indicates that it is ready to sync with your device.
  • While holding the 2 buttons in, insert the USB adapter back into the USB port on the mygica.
  • Once it has successfully synced , the lights will stop flashing and your unit is ready for use.

 

MY ATV495MAX REMOTE DOESN’T PAIR TO MY MEDIA PLAYER

If the ATV495MAX remote is unpaired, or fails to connect, please follow these steps below to correctly pair the remote.

1. Step One – Unpairing The Remote

  • Connect any USB Mouse to the 495Max to allow control over the device.
  • Navigate to the settings menu at the very bottom of the screen.
  • The SETTINGS menu will slide out from the right, then select the apps tab.
  • Scroll down to the “BTH GUIDE” Service and select it.
  • Click on “CLEAR DATA” and confirm.
  • Click on “FORCE STOP” and confirm.
  • Power off the 495Max by removing the AC adapter, then power it back on.
  • Once the 495Max starts up, wait for the Remote pairing screen to appear.

2. Step Two – Pairing The Remote

  • Once your device starts up after unpairing, wait for the remote Pairing screen to appear.
  • Press and hold the BACK & OK button simultaneously on the remote until the red LED on the remote remains static.
  • Once the 495Max detects the remote, hold the remote no more than 20CM from the 495Max.
  • The 495Max will pair with the remote, confirm the remote has been paired, and the pairing tutorial will close automatically.

Possible causes for the remote not pairing or unpairing

  • Flat batteries – replace batteries and attempt the paring process again
  • Remote is being used more that 10M from the device.
  • The remote has been left unused over an extended period of time.
  • The 495Max was reset to factory default.
  • The remote has been dropped or damaged and may require replacement.

 

 

My SuperSport APP won't allow me to watch anything?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Should you wish to watch SuperSport on your MyGica device you will no longer be able to do so from the SuperSport APP – Multichoice has opted to incorporate the SuperSport Live Streaming feature into their DSTV Now APP so in order to view Live Sport, you’ll need to install the DSTV Now APP and from the Drop-Down selection Menu on the left, select the “Live TV” option and browse through the various channels available to you and select the appropriate SuperSport channel.

**PLEASE NOTE**

Do not select the “SuperSport” icon on the bottom of the Drop-Down selection menu on the left as it is merely a shortcut to the SuperSport APP that as mentioned, no longer works.

I can't seem to install APPs not downloaded from the Google Play Store?

Some applications won’t install when downloaded, this is because your device is trying to protect you from having mailicious software installed without your knowledge.  If you want to manually install an Application then please use the ‘App Installer’ tool that’s already installed on your MyGica device – simply look for the App Installer Application in your Apps list and select the App you wish to install when you run it.

I cannot download the Showmax app through the Google Play Store?

To get Showmax working on your Mygica, please follow the steps below:

To uninstall go to the settings tab at the top of the main page.
Select the “Manage Apps” tab. (bottom left)
Under the “downloaded apps” list, scroll to the right until you get to the Showmax app.
Select the Showmax app, and select Uninstall.

Now to get the new one…

1. To install, download the APK file from the link <Showmax APK file download> to download the APK file to your device.

2. The file can be downloaded from the Mygica or from a PC, and transferred to the Mygica via USB.
Once the download is complete, go to the application menu (big tab on the left of the main screen)
Select “App installer” and select the correct source (where the APK file is), then select the Showmax apk.
Follow the prompt to install the APK file, once installed the application should work properly.

If this fails, please advise what error Showmax gives you, so we can try and resolve it from our side.

Showmax only let's you play trailers?

1. Check to make sure you are correctly logged into your Showmax Account and restart the Application.

2. If you are logged into your Showmax Account and still can only watch trailers, then please click on the link below and complete the Contact Form and we’ll contact you regarding a solution to your issue.

I have downloaded the SPI and Firmware files from the official website, but how do I update them now?

Please don’t unzip the files, copy them to SD card or USB flash disk root directory, connect to your MyGica and run Upgrade app on the MyGica, then select ‘Local Update’ option. Search for the SPI to update first, then do the same with the Firmware.

No update files found in 'Upgrade APP->Local Update' option?

Make sure your external device (Flash Drive or Micro SD Card) have been mounted on your Enjoy TV Box/Dongle first. If yes, but still no files found, please press the ’menu’ button on remote control for 8 seconds and it will refresh and search all files again.

If you encounter one of the below problems, please do factory reset (Settings->Backup & Reset)

NB – PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WILL REMOVE ALL PERSONAL DATA FROM THE DEVICE

  1. Pre-installed apps can’t be run normally
  2. The MyGica freezes or the Wi-Fi stops working
  3. The system becomes very sluggish and unresponsive
MyGica TV Box/Dongle does not want to start up?

Try to enter into recovery mode and force to restore factory settings as below steps:

  1. Use paperclip/pen to press and hold the upgrade button at the back/bottom of Mygica TV Box/Dongle.
  2. Plug in power adapter, hold the button for 5 seconds
  3. You will see recovery interface appear on the screen
  4. Then release the button and press up/down button on IR remote control/USB keyboard to find ‘wipe data/factory reset’ and select ‘Yes’ to wipe the device. Wiping the media partition and cache partition are necessary sometimes.
  5. Choose Reboot the system now option, and the system will restart automatically.
I have already connected MyGica TV Box to my old TV using the CVBS/YPBPR cable, but no image appears on the TV screen, it just shows ‘No Signal’?

NOTE: If your Enjoy TV Box is dual core box with Android 4.1 system, please check below:

  1. CVBS:
    Firstly, you have to connect the MyGica TV Box to a TV which has HDMI, go to ‘Setting->Display’ and select a lower resolution (480i), then change the output to CVBS in ‘Setting->CVBS/YUV’, choose CVBS and save the setting. Then, connect MyGica TV Box to your old TV, making sure the TV source is CVBS and you will get the android screen on TV.
  2. YPBPR:
    Make sure TV source is on ‘Component/YPBPR’. Connect the MyGica TV Box to your TV via ‘Component/YPBPR’ directly (do not repeat instructions under point ‘a’ above, default output mode is HDMI 720p), ensure the HDMI output mode is 720P. YPBPR also can output image. If no image appears on the screen, please follow the steps above and select ‘YUV mode’ in your MyGica TV Box settings, then, try again.

NOTE: If your Enjoy TV Box is dual core box with android 4.2 or quad core box with android 4.4 system, just make sure CVBS/YPBPR (without the HDMI cable plugged) cable is connected, then power on the box and you will get the image on your TV screen.

My Remote control doesn’t work?
  1. Try checking the batteries, if they are flat you’ll need to replace them.
  2. Restart your MyGica TV Box/Dongle
  3. If it is 2.4G wireless remote control, try using the adapter in another USB port. If Infrared remote control, make sure your remote control is aimed at the infrared receiver on box/dongle (external receiver cable on dongle)
  4. If your remote is KR100, please try to initialize (follow the steps below):
    1. Press ESC and G key on the keyboard together and the LED will keep shining, after 5 seconds the LED will be off and on again.
    2. Press Y and ” key on the keyboard together, LED keeps shining, after 5 seconds, LED will be off and enter into checking codes status.
I cannot download the Netflix app through the Google Play Store?

To get Netflix working on your Mygica, please follow the steps below:

I can’t type “&” “%” using my remote control/keyboard?

Change the default input method to English(US) in ‘Settings->Language & input->default’.

How to use Airplay function?

Make sure your MyGica and iPhone/iPad are connected to the same network, then run MediaCenter app on the MyGica and enable Airplayer and select the ‘Start Automatically’ option.

Now run the online/local media application on iPhone/iPad and select the file and find the MyGica device, then select it to run it over Airplay.

How do I use Miracast function?

Make sure your android phone supports Miracast function

Enable Wi-Fi on both the MyGica and your phone and run Miracast app on the MyGica. Find the Screen Mirroring/Cast Screen/Screen output option etc. on your phone (some mobile phones have a different name for this function), then search for the MyGica on your mobiles list, select it and accept the connection. Now you will see your devices screen mirrored to the TV screen.

Kodi doesn’t want to work on my ATV585/582/1900AC?

Kodi 17 is only compatible with Android 5.0 and newer as it only supports the new 64Bit architecture of the latest Operating Systems. In order to make sure that users still get the best possible experience, MyGica has taken Kodi’s open source code and made their own compatible version that runs the same as Kodi 17 (use this link to download the .APK file for the app)

My device won't switch on.

The audio jack port and the power cord have a very similar slot. Please ensure you have plugged the power cord into the correct slot.

I can't update my Netflix or I can't find it on the Play Store?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. You’ll need to uninstall your previous version of Netflix before we can proceed, to do this, go to ‘Settings’ on your MyGica and then select ‘Apps’

2. Under the Apps screen, click on the ‘Netflix’ icon and select the option for ‘Uninstall’ and you’ll uninstall the Netflix App

Now to get the new one…

1. Click on this link <Netflix For Media Player APK file download> to download the APK file to your device.

2. Navigate to your ‘downloads’ folder and click on the Netflix Downloaded APK to install it, following the prompts.

3. Your Netflix has now been updated!

 

Shomax not working? MyGica / Showmax update

Showmax has been vigilant in ensuring that their consumers get the best possible experience and so they have increased certain security levels on their App. This may cause a pop up with a message saying that the device is rooted and that Showmax won’t work anymore. MyGica has worked diligently to ensure that users do not suffer from this issue and have released an update to rectify this.

You can either run the update through their online update process or you can follow the steps below.

I can't seem to get 5.1 Surround Sound on Netflix?

If the movie or TV show you’re watching has 5.1 available, make sure that option is selected within the Audio & Subtitles menu during playback. Please note that not every episode or season of a 5.1 supported TV show may have 5.1 available. You can test for 5.1 availability of later seasons of a TV show by using the season drop-down option on the title description page.

Why can't I watch Netflix in UHD?

Netflix has discontinued 4K playback on most devices, including the bulk of its android devices. While this will affect many users we are currently working with Netflix to resolve this for future models.
